And rightly or wrongly that's the problem here, not enough info for those who haven't had a preview to go on. Not that i'm suggesting they'd have a change of mind furnished with the detail.

That's the crux of it really.

Unless my basic concerns (overly complex theory being favoured over very simple one; apparent lack of attention to facts like whether the hole is man-made or natural, what tools were used, etc) are addressed, reading the book isn't going to change anything.

That's not intended as a dig at self-publishing, but as a constructive criticism of what I've read on this thread so far.
