Can you measure the carved rectangle again please, being very careful as to accuracy. It may be important, at least to me anyway.
Also, do you have any thoughts as to the reason for marking the time of solar noon? Why would this have been important?

I have measured it quite carefully, but will do so again. It is 12 inches by 10 inches; the long side being the horizontal. It is quite plain on many photographs, others as well as mine, and I am surprised it has not been noticed before, but perhaps it has and I cannot find a record of it.
