I was looking at alignments for this site and discovered Mottram Church to be one of the main ones. On looking up Mottram Church I discovered. This book Legends Of Longdendale Thomas Middleton 1906 The Legend of Coombs Rocks

I was awestruck by the refrences to Druids Stone Circles in the area etc but what supised me most was the name of the warrior. Edas son of ATLI, my name is Terry Ackley (ACK Oak LEY clearing or valley) bit of a spooky coincidence? Where do Druids hold their ceromonys In Clearings in Oak woods?

So what's next for this place? How do we tease out remains from quarrying from authentic antiquities....? BTW, just over the hill there is a Ringstones Farm. The remains of a stone circle is reputed to be covered by concrete and lie under a building.... Farmers, eh.....?
