While we’re on the subject of rockart...

Yesterday before the sheep meet, I was over on the other side of the road looking for the Tree of Life Rock and the Death’s Head Rock. I eventually found them both but the co-ordinates for them on TMA are the wrong way round.
I’m not blaming you (hehe!) as Stan the man gets them the wrong way round in British Prehistoric Rock Art too. Any chance you can put them right, and I’ll post the pictures and fieldnotes.

Cheers –

-Chris :-)

will do Chris matey. as you guessed, I blagged the co-ordinates from Stan's book

Hang on just one minute Chris.
Stan is the man.
maybe one of his rivals deliberately moved or recarved the stuff just to discredit the learned one!

Hehehe!

Sorry to have to correct you again (that’ll be me off your Christmas card list then!).

What I meant was that the grid ref. for the Tree of Life was actually the one for the Death’s Head stone and vice-versa, not that the individual numbers were mixed up.

The GPS readings I got were-
Tree of Life SE17980 51167
Death’s Head SE17796 51239

Cheers (again)
Chris
