I’ve only just found about Stanwick Fortifications in North Yorkshire through watching ‘Britains Forgotten Iron Age Settlement - Full 9km Tour and Archaeological Secrets’ on Auld Boy’s YT channel.. somewhat gobsmacked. There was me thinking Oldbury Hillfort was huge - yes, I will get round to uploading pix etc - but that place is minuscule in comparison: 760 acres vs 120 = no contest. Any other nominations? The only TMAer to visit Stanwick seems to have been Carl. What a place!

Only drone footage seems to do some sites justice and I’m all in favour of the new video facility on TMA and hope for much footage of this nature. Cheers, HMG!

And another: watch ‘Britain’s Massive Ancient Structure That Still Baffles Us’ on the excellent Paul Whitewick’s channel… the Dorset Cursus

wow Stanwick is huge indeed! hadn't come across it before - i guess there must have been others and they've since been ploughed out. thanks for sending me down an interesting rabbit hole which ended up at the cursus recently discovered in arran.
