Yeah - Solstice Greetings to all...

OK, I know it's a Christmas song... and as much as I hate labels... I guess I'm an atheist with a humanistic outlook, yet the Annie Lennox vibe in this is very much my thing:

Ah, bright blessings for the solstice you lot.

I'm delighted to reach midwinter, it's been a crap year in lots of ways, I'm looking forward to the light returning and the coming of Spring.

Best of the season to all!

And in the interest of not looking out of place, here's a pleasant ditty for the time of year featuring the lovely Rose McDowell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faGEKXgZOEk

Yes happy season's greetings to all.
We were reflecting on the dark grimness at work and saying how we were all tired and done with everything. And how that long before Christmas was a thing, it would have been necessary to have something bright and fun to look forward to in the middle of winter. You know, sitting around the fire near the roundhouse and eating something tasty. I was just feeling cosy and pleased when my colleague pointed out that other aspects of this would probably be exactly the same. E.g. there you are presenting little Johnny with a little wooden deer that you've carefully be whittling, and he cries and says he wanted a boar instead. The realisation made me laugh anyway.
Wishing you all hope and peace for the new year x

Working outside as I do it is great to already see bulbs coming through and buds swelling. Even though it’s not supposed to be measured for a day or two yet you can feel the day lengthening. Positive vibes to you and yours and all HHers, whatever x
