Had been expecting to see something posted about the sad news that Timothy Darvill - Archaeologist and Chairman of Cotswold Archaeology died on October 5th "after a brief battle with cancer" at the age of 66.
I feel fortunate to have his excellent book 'Prehistoric Gloucestershire - Forests and Vales and High Blue Hills' on my bookshelf. It was a great aid in exploring the ancient sites of Gloucestershire - a decade or so ago.
I believe he was highly respected even though not everyone agreed with his point of view (i.e. specifically the now abandoned Stonehenge Tunnel project).
