I quite liked the contributor page, but I must admit I never liked the 'league table' presentation of it. It certainly caused at least one meltdown (not recently, admittedly) and I'm quite happy that it's gone. You can still see everything an individual contributor has posted on their own page, so I guess if you want to immerse in someone's contributions in particular you can still do that.
