I won't rant here, not a lot of point. Have signed petition for now ... and will watch for anything further that can be done to influence the council's decision. I find it hard to believe they would consider widening that road for heavy traffic as it is used by pedestrians crossing from one side to the other.

Edit: On second thoughts pedestrians crossing doesn't seem to make any difference to heavy traffic (including HGVs) at Avebury.

I remember turning up to the Rollright Stones in the summer of 89’ or was it 90’?
There was a fair few folk turned up..hundreds all camped out in some farmers field.
..said farmer turns up wielding a shotgun on his tractor at six in the morning. Unfortunately our adventure was cut short as we were soon back on the road under escort..Oddly as I’m writing this three sirens have just blared past..
