There are current ongoing consultations about proposed amendments to the Treasure Act, with a view to increasing the penalties for non-compliance and widening the scope of what's covered. Many metal detectorists and dealers say that's the state using a jackboot but then again many detectorists and dealers are complete shits! ;)
