Usual pathetic request..this time for special sites in South Wales please. Staying in Carmarthen, Wales... ( of course). 4 days. Love, lazy Carol xx
PS I am looking up sites but tend to get a bit bamboozled!
To be honest there aren't, in my opinion, any sites I'd call classic in the immediate vicinity of Carmarthen, although Merlin's Hill is well worth a visit:

Merlin's Hill:

However if you're prepared to drive a little way out you've lots of stuff to NE around western Mynydd Du.... e.g:

Carreg Cennen:

Tair Carn cemetery:

....and to the NE you've untold stuff in the Preselau and , as Tjj said, The Gower to the SE

These are a couple of hidden gems worth searching out, too:

Twlc-y-filiast:

Gwal-y-filiast:

Some great suggestions there. The Gower has some great chambered tombs, mostly easy enough to get to:

If you're prepared for a longer trip then there are some brilliant, easily accessible chambered tombs in Pembrokeshire, for example:

And a fine stone row:
