What I like about Cope is my perception that I could have a chat with him, perhaps utterly disagree with him on the issues discussed, but nevertheless understand and appreciate where he was coming from, you know? He's entertained/provoked/inspired me - and the Mam C - for years because what he does veers between inspired/magnificent/comical/shit. That is how it should be. By definition no human can be too good to be true and yet remain credible. I reckon the faults say as much about the man as the attributes. I like this, you feel like the writer's getting past the surface. I like the way Mr Cope says that if you dress ostentatiously enough people actually ignore you, they ignore you deliberately. And I like the way he comes across as being at that genius / maniac borderline :)
