Ruh oh! Shame they won't be taking the beer off them too.
Why?
Because its the booze that makes people start climbing the stones at 4am and leads to the confrontations & general not so pleasant feeling afaik. Be a much nicer event if they took the alcohol away and allowed everything else...

Just a nice bottle of Chablis would suffice surely for such a picnic.

I've never been to the summer solstice at Stonehenge (and only once at winter) but I think i'd be disappointed if I couldn't just enjoy a couple of ales if I was staying in the vicinty!

Surely you police the idiot individuals, not make everybody elses experience more shutdown/miserable in the process?

Well indeed. Despite the lack of smileys, my original post was tongue in cheek, hard to pick up on I know! ;)

Unfortunately they don't seem to just "police the idiots", instead it seems to be a catch-all them vs us policing & management of the event. Saying that, I've also never been for summer solstice, just read the round table reports, complaints re policing etc.

Well, a small amount of Chablis or 4 cans of beer/cider are allowed.. to broaden out what you can and cannot do, EH has to my mind put up a very reasonable set of conditions....

You can even pick up your litter and dump it into one of several bins!! I can't see that somehow but live in hope....
