Sadly I'm not actually going to Edinburgh until Friday. On Halloween we'll be staying in StAlbans (aka Verulamium - very Roman!) with my parents before flying up to this wedding.

I'm a bit stumped for places to visit in central Edinburgh. Arthur's Seat looks like a good bet, but I really wanted a nice big phallic stone to visit.

Hey Kammer,
tis a pity, but don't despair- there are plenty of sites to visit in Edinburgh. If it's big stones yer after then check out the Caiy Stane;

or Ravenswood Avenue;
http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/browse.php?site_id=728
and the Niddrie Stone;

Methinks I've added buses to get from Princes Street to em all.
If you're heading up Arthurs Seat, then there are plenty sites round it to keep the modern antiquarian happy for a good few hours;

Have fun!!
