Hi nix,

Like Gladders says, it depends what is meant by remote. Do remote cairns a few thousand feet up count? Or is remote defined by how far a site is from a road or a habitable building? Or is it the remotest place from the accepted main roads?

It's all dependent.

Was definately thinking in terms of most difficult to get to but true, it's all relative.
Cairns on remote mountain tops are a personal favourite. The size, condition of the site usually seems less important than the genius loci and the view usually makes the getting there worth the work!
