Has anyone ever noticed the triple echo at Waylands?
A high pitched whoop! is rewarded by a long-drawn-out perfect triple reproduction, with what seems like an unnaturally long time between each repeat. Interesting. I believe the acoustic properties of certain sites have been investigated over the years, but i've never heard about the triple echo at Waylands.
When you say its distinct on the ridgeway, how'd you mean?

When you stand on the little path between the ridgeway and Waylands, that is where the echo is at its loudest/crispest. The first time I heard it I jumped around to see who it was that was copying my , as I had thought, private, unsilent scream.
How very strange.

Sorry to sound stupid, but just want to be crystal (ha!) on this, you mean the echo isn't from the chamber? You mean it's outside, away from the barrow??!

Yep. The echo comes at you from the landscape itself. It kinda makes you stand up tall. Apologies for the confusion. I can see that I didnt make it crystal at all :-)
