I quite like this thread it opens out the rest of the world, so here is a video from Al Jazeera about looting in Peru.

There are always two sides to the argument, and it struck me whilst watching the video, the looting men chewing their cocaine? the women wanting homes, the issue of looting becomes less so in the face of need.
The need for the archaeologists to have more intelligence, the museums to stock their shelves seem to shrivel beside the need for space to live in....

Hi Moss,

You're right. There seems to be a huge difference between looting for need and looting to get more money when you already have enough.

Also, the pyramid that was bulldozed was probably done by a company that has already made millions. The lust for more money overrides everything these days. There's no shame where filthy lucre is concerned.
