There's a couple of campsites in Lochgilphead, about 5 miles outside of Kilmartin, that look quite nice, too. :)

Aye, I saw them, maybe check them oot if weather is to wild. Cheers
The Lochgilphead site is very midge infested. We got eaten alive there a few years back.
My suggestion for wild camping is coastal spots (no midges).
We found a great wee wild camping site at Gallanach Bay, a very sheltered, lovely spot opposite Crinan and easily accessed by a footpath from Duntrune Castle. It is dead handy for all of Kilmartin, car parking, driftwood for campfires and no-one to bother you. And no-one to move you on. Good weather and you'll want to stay forever. Life's a beach and you're on it.

I bet it's lovely there and it sounds like the perfect place/answer to your original question:0)
