What about ticks? Anyone know how to stop them getting on you? I always get ticks.
I don't think that there is "stuff" as such now that sheep dip is no longer used . They are getting worse because of that , a gamekeeper on the Wyvis may have died due to Lyme's . Being covered up is the best bet , keep out of bracken if possible . Inspect , use tweezers if you have them . when you get home inspect clothing and give clothes and good airing don't bring them in until your're sure they are clear .Camping is worst as you are less likely to get a good inspection until a return to home and you are sleeping close to clothes that may have them attached . It might seem a bit OT but could prove worth the trouble .
Have been looking for natural remedies - most seemed aimed at pets but it seems they don't like vitamin B complex (which is probably where the Marmite comes in). Will take your advice though won't be camping - I know Moth picked up a tick while on Lewis which developed into Lyme's. Quite poorly for a while I believe.

Midgies are a pest/nightmare but ticks are potentially much worse . I get quite a few annually but unless camping usually get rid of them within 24 hours .not getting rid of them properly can be a problem and lead to infection hence the tweezers and not fingernails, acohol, meths or burning .
