Am heading up that way in mid-May and plan to be outdoors a lot. I've read about the midges so have bought a bottle of Avon 'Skin So Soft' spray via the internet - it apparently works because it contains Citronella. Costs about £2.50 (plus postage).

What about ticks? Anyone know how to stop them getting on you? I always get ticks.
