If you look at Google Earth it becomes very tempting to see the WK Avenue as a 'false' winterbourne, snaking as it does, and for Silbury to be the viewing platform for the water to the henge, as Waden Hill is for the avenue.

The two 'courses' (water & avenue) seperated by Waden Hill (and not inter-visible) must be significant.

Wouldn't you be able to see the Sanctuary end of the WKA from the top of Silbury ? again if the trees were all removed.
Yes, I think so.
All just idle 'fly-away' thoughts really, but fun nevertheless (to me at least!)

I am very interested in the correlation between water and avenue.

Remember Streams can flow underground as well as overground, maybe it's a question for dowsers, i'm pretty sure i remember reading or being told by dowsers that the Avenues at Avebury follow underground watercourses, i'm not so sure myself but the kink in the WKA near Avebury is very watercourse like, and would explain why you think there may be a link between the Avenues and Water, Just a thought...

It's good to let the mind wander. :)
