That is a good question and I'm glad you asked it. There are really two Stonehenges - the world renowned one, for which English Heritage is responsible and tourists come to see for perhaps an hour or so before travelling on. And the other Stonehenge, that wonderful liminal place that is experienced when you walk towards it along the Avenue - viewing it from afar first. Surely there is a place for both.
