York want him, Leicester want him, anyone going to ring Harry Hill to sort this out?

Or shall we just shove him in Room 101?

Are royal bones any different to any other skeletons that are excavated - I think not, death is the ultimate equaliser. My personal view is all should be treated with respect and reburied as swiftly as possible. These royal remains were buried at the site of what was once Grey Friars Church, there is no question they should remain in nearby Leicester Cathedral. I just hope they do it quietly and the media doesn't drum up a 'state funeral'.

Well that is where this is going isn't it, austerity though will perhaps dissuade such notions.

I heard that it was mandated before they even started the excavation that any remains would be reburied locally, and if they found Dick3 he'd go into the cathedral.
I think that ties in with the current legislation about human remains that are excavated by archaeologists, and how quickly they have to be reinterred...

I'm not a Royalist but if he really is Richard III then he should have a Kings burial and the monarchy should have the final say as to where he is to be finally laid to rest. If he is 'one of theirs' then it would be no different to what we would want for one of ours IMO.
