No you could be in a new wooded landscape to you and you'd try finding a clearing [a glade] and this is the sort of place you may find a monument or rock art, we just don't know because the landscape has changed a bit in 5000 years.

If you know where the map is, you must have knowledge of the area and therefore don't need a map.

If you don't know the area, you won't know where the map is.
