Mine's easy..... at Coedcae Gaer hillfort on Christmas Eve I had the complete misfortune of finding myself literally in the middle of a fox hunt..... there's me thinking these were illegal.

It fair made my skin crawl to have to share a hillside with such worthless scum, but I was determined not to be intimidated by all the heavies watching in pick-ups, so blatantly went over to a bloke on his quad and said I was going to cross the barbed wire fence and look at the hillfort.... 'hillfort?' he replied, looking utterly bemused. 'Yes, that thing over there', said I, pointing.

I sincerely hope the fox outwitted them, since it doubled back past me into the hillfort.... needless to say I kept stumm...but guess I'll never know.

Don't get me started ... technically illegal but that seems to make no difference at all to the hunting brigade which you described accurately. My only encounter was last year (2010) just after visiting Windmill Tump Long Barrow - we had to wait while a hunt set off and yes it made me fume with anger and a sense of powerlessness. My only gratification was that as the hunt rode past us a deer bounded across the field behind them ... unseen.
Yeah, seeing as the 'police' (apparently) turn a blind eye and you can't bring one of the morons down without hurting the horse... there's nothing you can do without mass action.

Makes my blood boil the way the law is flouted by the Hooray Henry's and the police turn a blind eye. If we are not careful the 'law' will be overturned and we'll be back in the dark ages again.
I was walking up to Hawkstor (the North Hill one) a couple of years ago and met the owner of the land around it to the east. He was fuming as the buggers had cut a perimeter fence down so they could get in after he told the hunt they were not welcome. The hunt master came to meet him whist we were chatting and spoke to him like he was a piece of sh*t. I don't know how the guy held back from dragging him off his horse because I was furious just listening to the ignorant bastard who couldn't care a toss.
