Why do people need FB to keep in contact with 'friends', don't you do that by normal email anyway? I joined but got out as fast as I could when I realised what a load of loons are on there! The world and his wife want to be your friend wheher you know them or not. I get pissed off by the FB logo appearing just about everywhere you go on the net, it's like a disease that they hope everyone is going to catch. Why?
I quite agree with that sentiment, Sanctuary. Talk about too many friends, it's like a popularity contest. I believe you can even be friends with a town. Scraping the barrell, or what?

Hi TE,
Yes you can, you can be 'friends' with groups such as towns, schools, pubs, clubs, forums etc which on the face of it sound pretty crass, however, what these are doing is allowing you to get regular feeds what is going on in these areas. For example groups such a Heritage Action & Devizes Museum produce almost daily alerts providing me with information that will interest me.
I do not see anything wrong with that do you?

:o)
