The defacements at Uffington should wash off in the rain and will not cause further damage, but the statement on the Beeb as to the Kliburn defacements was as follows: "In Kilburn, John Roberts from the local White Horse Association says they had managed to remove the new image without causing too much damage."

Which means that SOME damage was done.
