Another report said that the whole story was a ruse cooked up by a group of fiercely protective locals to deter a visiting shooting group. I do hope that's true.

Thats good news, I've just read a story about an 'alien' stoat on Orkney who has been safely moved back to the main land, so if any of you out there whilst traipsing around the island see another one please report it, think it was a stowaway.. sometimes you just can't make it up...

Lucky Stoat! It must have been a tad lonely being stuck on Orkney. I wonder how he got there. Stoats are remarkabley good swimmers/climbers, sort of SAS style dudes, but swimming to Orkney ? The mystery thickens...
