Another report said that the whole story was a ruse cooked up by a group of fiercely protective locals to deter a visiting shooting group. I do hope that's true.

So do I SC. Doesn't the media drive you mad. If they can't get genuine info the buggers make it up! The first report I saw was on television when they said he had been shot and his body found in a field. The rest, as they say, is history....or in this case an ongoing saga! Now everyone will be out looking for him and hopefully shooting him again...but with cameras this time!! Fingers crossed.

I've been following this closely and there is so much conflicting information, deliberately media manipulated to keep the story running. The recurring theme that I have found is that to even the pro-hunting locals, he is such an emblem/totem, that he has always been off limits in the past. The theory is that they got wind through the local grapevine of a group of out of city toffs on the way down for a stag hunt, and so they concocted and spread the story about to throw them off the scent.

Everything crossed. I'm a human knot!
