Knew of it but have never got around to going to see it. Not sure I knew it was 'original' stones (or I'd forgotten!)

I think it was either briefly on here as a site or has at least been discussed here before tho.

Thanks for replying Moth,
I haven't visited either; I don't recall the discussion but would like to read it. My question was in response to faerygirl's post about what constitutes an ancient site - is one that has been moved (as inferred the Stonor Circle was) still classified as an ancient site.
The other obvious example is Devils Quoits at Stanton Harcourt which I am hoping to visit this weekend. A mainly reconstructed circle on the original site of the ancient one. Is it still an ancient site? The consensus seems to be that it is.

Personally I'm interested in anything that uses original stones and/or is in the place where the 'original' was.

I've got limited interest in stuff that's undeniably totally modern, but often bother to see them if I'm nearby. There are some beautiful modern circles in beautiful settings.

I've been to the Druid's Folly & thought it was exactly that, myself! A reet overdone mess! (The broken glass & used syringes etc didn't help....)
