Hi Moss .found the Larry Bull article , he suggests that the timber circles (and subsequent main stone ) were built to be due south of Maes Knoll . But no explanation as to why that might be significant . He also suggests that Silbury was built to to "reproduce Maes Knoll at Stanton"Silbury is'nt a bit like Maes Knoll, more like Kelston Round hill just outside Bath, which Larry Bull allied to the Beckhampton stone circle (if it existed)..
