Too many pagans reading the Kirk Sessions saying - well if paganism died out why was the church still punishing them right into modern times, I expect, Tiompan.
What was great about them were the doodles and jottings of the clerk and the smell and texture of the bindings , some of the Kincardine parishes were white , pig skin I think . It was a costly business bein a repeat offender they obviously didn't bother but still had to pay up and repent in front of the congregation , thank fuck , without them we wouldn't be here .

I like how one local minister gave a sermon saying you shouldnt be drinking all day to a drunk being shamed that day. Maybe just one before and after breakfast, and one before and after lunch. One to get you through the afternoon was okay, well not more than two or three at that. And with gentlemen of an evening was fine, no more than 8 or nine though. Makes me wonder how many the drunk had to have had to be getting shamed...
