Got my fingers crossed for some good wildlife next week in Scotland...
If you find yourself near to Banchory on the A93, then you must go to the Bridge of Feugh, just to the south of the town. You can stand on the bridge and watch salmon leaping up the rapids.

I came across it by accident and was so entranced that I returned the next day to watch the display again.

That I would very much like to see. Is it just in the autumn though or do they leap at other times of the year?

Well, I went in the month of May.

I had assumed that there would be a short season when salmon ran up the river to spawn; however, that doesn't seem to be the case. Every river population has developed their own timings. The Aberdeenshire Dee is a famous salmon fishing river and there is a Spring run as well as one from Midsummer to Autumn, as far as I know. If anyone has better knowledge about this then please share it.
