Yes, very close up sighting of a golden eagle at Clava Cairns and also at Bernara Bridge. In the winter usually see bramblings on the Ridgeway near Wayland's Smithy. Oh and hares galore, too.
There are some spectacular birds on the lake next the Devil's Quoits - waterfowl of every sort- very good for tufted ducks. Once saw a snow goose there!
I once stumbled across a family of dingos just hanging out in a shady spot near some Aboriginal rock paintings at Uluru (Ayers Rock). That was quite exciting.
