Burst is appropriate .

The problem is really the dates and that is what makes WKLB interesting as it coincides with the construction. The alternative is to find a monument with all the suitable azis and decs which is is likely if you have a few centuries to play about with but is it likely to have been the date of build , we don't know because rarely do we have such accurate dates .

Thinking of it still... More notable than the sun, because of the dramatic contrast to its usual appearance and the additional, highish probability of an eclipse. Bleeding and about to be consumed, if you were to (imaginatively) anthropomorphise it. Ya, why not? More likely than, as you say, lunar limits, more verifiable than astral.

What I meant, except I got my figures the wrong way around, was the equinoctial sun after rising and moving 5 degrees south. I know, what would be the point of that? Just looking for an alternative possibility ;)
