I laughed at your post for ages Goffik, cos after asking 50 times if it was okay and being told it was okay, hating sounding like an insecure moron, the first time I relax and post what pops into my head without an apology, someone pulls me up for it... och well...
I did a little surfing about Robbie the Pict, who declared a seperate nation from the rest of the UK and began a campaign of ignoring laws he thought unlawful or an infringement of cvil rights which has meant he'sbeen charged more than 300 times for various crimes, mostly minor. I saw this comment on the Highland Review
"Robbie is often unfairly seen as a rather eccentric character who has decided to drop out of mainstream society".
We admire our eccentrics. Robbie might not be the best example of ways to fight "the man" though. I always remember an Arkansas baptist minister who had converted to druidism in later life, declared himself an Arch Druid a couple of years later, and promised anyone accepting his authority that they would raise money to do what Robbie the Pict had done, and buy land in Scotland where they would declare themselves an independant nation. Then they would also drive cars with diplomatic plates (like Robbie the Pict) which would let them ignore british hunting and gun laws so they could transport their version of "Scottish Life" back to their "Homeland". I asked if he thought he would get away with it, and he said "people love eccentrics, they get away with murder".
