Rhiannon,
At last, someone as miserable as me. At least that's what my wife tells me. I'm sick to death of the hype of Christmas, and I'm even more sick of the original post, which is so sickeningly PC. Stuff PC. I'm not racist, I'm not sexist, or any other -cist, but I object to people objecting to the original British Christmas. If you don't like if f*ck off home. And f*ck PC.
Festively yours,
TE.

Peace and light! A sentiment which predates political correctness I believe and very much part of what an old fashioned Christmas is supposed to be about.

as the baby jesus would say...TE ya ould grinch (-:
A chance to meet up with old mates, head out to the stones for some solstice fun, drag a tree into the house, bank-up the fire and nod out on festive fare and if I've been good, get a nice book or two from my loved ones.
Oh yeh almost forgot....
There's the wonderful Captain Cook's Beer & Pork Pie Festival:- 25+ real ales (all with a Christmas and New Year theme), a cider, a perry and 25 different flavoured Pork Pies.
Bah humbug
fitz

When I find an original post off putting, I don't keep revisiting it. Bit like poking a wound. Sounds like you enjoy being miserable TE.

Ignore the You Will Enjoy Yourself christmas fascists, TE. I'm sure we can both have a perfectly enjoyable yuletide season on our own terms. It just means not going into town / turning on the tv for a couple of months. It doesn't preclude nice eats and spending time with people you actually want to spend time with.
