Hi Folks,
November started well with the publishing of Stan Beckensall's latest book “Prehistoric Rock Art in Britain, Sermons in Stone”.

Cheers,

I ordered my copy from Amazon over the weekend and the postman has just come by with it. It is nearly 8.00pm but he lives locally and I wasn't in earlier - neighbourly eh!
The book looks great - a mixture of exquisite colour photographs plus some black & white ones. I know I'm going to enjoy reading it.

I really have all the people who contribute rock art photos to this web-site to thank for my fast growing interest - so thank you.

Once again: Amazon are selling it reduced from £18.99 to £11.79 with free delivery.

EDIT:
I've just read the Acknowledgements page and Stan Beckensall uses this to close:

And this our life, exempt from public haunt
Finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks,
Sermans in stones, and good in everything.
Shakepeare from "As You Like It"

Coincidently, this afternoon my copy arrived on this side of the pond.
I was pleasantly surprised by the many photographs in the book.
Found the Appendix VIII; "Shamanism, a dead end in Rock-Art Studies" by Dr Paul Bahn a very interesting and convincing read.
