Thanks for this - great info - and tiger cubs too!!! I think we're going to go to Borger via Groningen so we can check out Platenworm (John Peel's favourite record store ever), but now we're going to have to go to Emmen too. I'm presuming there are buses from Groningen to Borger?

Stones and tigers in the Netherlands... what a great 30th birthday I'm going to have...

In Groningen you should board the interliner (=light blue bus-service) to Emmen. It stops in Borger. It takes about 3 quarters of an hour.
It is a bit more expensive than the regular buslines but it's a lot faster/more comfortable and you don't have to change in the middle of nowhere.
Groningen is worth a visit too. It's the only real city in the Northern part of Holland.
