Yes,it was great to see you all, to chat, compare notes, bitch about NT and EH and talk to people one really hadn't met before. Ta Scubi.
My friends from Winchester, Andy and Cheryl, were dead impressed, eh Nigel?
CE,s guide to The Peaks is awesome and the mini-guides are a brilliant idea. The Peak tourist authorities would be fools not to encourage publication.
I loved Moth and Jane's photo albums of their trips to NZ and French Polynesia, "every frame a Rembrandt"! As always not enough time to discuss everything
Pity the weather was c*** but at least we got to sit in the pub (and move tables so we could hear ourselves think above various Lamas celebrations) and chew the cud.
Jim.
Yes it was a very good day despite the weather and great to meet you all.
I look forward to the next meet wherever and whenever it may be.

:o)

Well we arrived back exhausted from the weekend. It was wonderful to see familiar faces as everyone wandered to and fro in that higgledy piggledy pub. One moment we were being serenaded by “What shall we do with a Drunken Sailor” (the live 'cabaret' show was good though a trifle loud.), the next moment everyone rearranging the party round the front room or outside on the benches (it did’nt rain all the time) Yes, it was a glorious mix of rain, druids, music and children – Avebury can always put on a good show ;)

Common Era’s book has come in for well deserved praise, it is monu-mental, both in effort and creativity, the book itself is beautiful and the little pocket guides a clever idea, the whole presentation was perfect.

It rained but it did’nt dampen the spirit of anyone, Hob and his lovely family made a happy surprise for those who knew him, Goff was emotional as always but can anyone imagine life without him soothing the way forward ;)

Jane and Moth had cleverly montaged their photographs of their travels abroad into a journal record, which is a brilliant idea and needs copying, especially if you can get words into it as well.

A good but exhausting day.....
