The old canvas tents they had back in the day might have done, but modern tents are a little better. Mine is supposed to be able to withstand a force 8. I wouldn't want to test that out, mind!

I used to use four 12" kebab prongs to hold the flysheet guys, crossed with ordinary tent pegs. And then I was usually sheltered by a wall. I used to enjoy phoning my family and shouting "You'll have to speak up, I'm in a gale". My linecasts have got storms in a tent as often it would be one of the most interesting things to happen.
