Just read the two last messages.

(1) Killinga to Carrigagrenane N to Glanbrack

High ground south of Carrigfadda blocks any view from Killinga east to the other sites. Those two may be intervisible, however. I'll have to go and check, due a re-visit to Glanbrack anyway.

What's interesting about these three is the cupmarks on the large stone at Killinga and the cupmark on the axial at Glanbrack. There's also a depression in the centre of the axial-top at Carrigagrenane, but this may well be natural. Apart from the axial at Drombeg there is no re-occurence of cups at any other of these 28 sites.

I was looking for small similarities between sites, not because you'd say that they should be there, more that if they were present it might have a bearing on the consideration of any possible 'line' link between them.

(2) Maulatanvally to Glanbrack to Templebryan

Maulatanvally (190metres 'ish) and Glanbrack (160metres 'ish) are intervisible.

The way is see it is that we know next to nothing and any additional info no matter how small could make a difference even if it's 60 years later .
I was at Ben Lawers yesterday and visited Machuin stone circle on the way home ,two of the stones ,slightly anthropomorpic shaped and opposite each other in the circle have one single cup marks on their outward faces .The bearing from one to the other in one direction produced nothing in the usual astro alignments but the othe other was spot on for solstice sunrise . Statistically , taking alignmnets from stone to stone within a stone circle is bound to produce what appears as positive results . But when both have a distinctive common feature does that make it more salient ? I'm not sure , but it's maybe not for us to say and the most important thing is that it is recorded .
