I had to go to the pretty Cotswold village of Guiting Power in connection with work yesterday. While there, I walked past the village green and noticed a group of large weathered stones lying flat, without comment, next to the war memorial. I took a quick snap and when I got home have looked on t'net for any info about what these stones might be. Giving the Whittlestone's presence in the nearby village of Lower Swell, it wouldn't surprise me if they had come from something megalithic. It seems rather strange to leave a bunch of stones in the middle of an otherwise very well tended village green.

My internet research has so far found nothing, but I wondered if anyone here had any knowledge of what these could be?
