Thanks for the encouragement everyone. It's much appreciated :)

It occurred to me that unless you've seen Morris's or Beckensall's illustrations, even with the fancy photography techniques that've been developed recently, it can still sometimes be tricky to discern the actual motifs in the carvings. I may have gone a bit OTT with the colour in some of them, but hey, if I can't get away with being a bit psychedelic on tma, where could I?

Thanks again you nice people, I'm back to toil over a hot graphics tablet again.

Tiz grand stuff Hob.

Really nice work Hob, you bring out the beauty of the carvings.

Hob,

Your reply is typical of many good artists; where you see faults others see only beauty.

I want (at least) one on my wall.

I think Stan's off the wall and misses the picture - but that view is informed by looking into his front room and divining the contents. Though I have a technical question. In your painting - I guess this is what they are - of Dod Law Main there are trails or tracks of oval-shaped marks. Where do they come from? I've looked at the photos that are posted and can't see these marks on the actual stone. Who interpreted them, and what are the marks called? You have captured the way they wander over the stone - a bit like a footpath seen from above. Thanks!

Hi Hob

I have been thinking about buying a graphics tablet for some time now but don't want to spend much...any advice?
