Hmm...effectively blown up by two cartoon characters! Stone circles everywhere, s'wierd isn't it. Maybe they're all giant representations of hearths, they are naturally circular or sub-circular, often have stones around them and arise independently wherever fire is used.
Oooh, a theory, I've not had one of those in a while...

True, though the last time I went was about 11 years ago. I've been to Lamma, it's one of the outlying islands which doesn't? (didn't) have motorised traffic and is very hilly. I didn't see no stone circles though :-(
