Very sad indeed. Had a similar experience last week while spending time up on Stanton Moor at The Nine Ladies. I was horrified by the amount of beer cans and bottles lying around the site and the amount of so-called "offerings" tied into the branches of trees, including cheap plastic beads and other non-degradable artifacts. I did spend some time collecting bottles and cans and removed them from the site.

This site is also being seriously harmed by the amount of camp fires that have been lit, some in very close proximity to the circle itself.
