All this talk of moving stones, Aubrey Burl once witnessed a capstone being winched up (on timber) in 1996 in a quarry somewhere around Oxford, its in the following link, scroll down a bit....

The idea of stones being shifted round on a 'fulcrum', a pointed stone seems to sit well with Pembrokeshire and Cornwall cromlechs, all have pointy stones....
