Bit new-agey in places but he talks to a fair few folks in the UK. When it arrived and I initially looked at it I was dissapointed, but then got quite into it. There seem to be 2nd hand copies for £2 on amazon...

Got given this book for Christmas and dug it out yesterday, after seeing this thread. It's got Margaret and Ron in it, so must be reasonably good!

Re pebbles under stones - that's how Maltese builders did it http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/65644/images/tarxien.html apparently.
