Tomwatts,

I assume you're referring to, along with various other forum topics of the moment, my reply to FourWinds, and possibly his recommendation of two books. I placed a weblink to Oxbow books, of which I have no connection whatsoever. The company concerned happen to offer an incredible range of books suited to the interests of the members of TMA, which are hard to source elsewhere.

The reason that "adverts" are placed on the forum is that we wish to inform other like-minded people of things that could be to their advantage, or of things that may interest them. In the vast majority of cases there is no gain to be had for the informer.

At least I am not aware of any pure advertising on this site, and I'm sure the TMA-Eds would put a stop to any hard-faced comercial activity.

I understand your concerns. Perhaps other TMA-ers could voice their opinion as to whether they want such links included in the forum.

If this is also a reference to the Standing with Stones DVD then long may this form of advertising continue

I have been lurking here years, but only recently started to post. I find the recomendations of books etc useful to point out interesting publications

Just my view of course ;-)
