Understandable question, Rupert.

Julian seems to be fine about not-for-profit trading. Quite a lot of music recordings are traded on the other forums here. I'm absolutely sure the webmaster, the lovely Holy McGrail would have something to say if Julian objected.... :^)

I've no idea what kind of deal Julian struck with the Beeb but from what I know of the broadcast world it is notoriously difficult to hang on to secondary rights, especially if your not a regular 'player' or if you haven't brought in a co-production deal. I don't know, but I would bet that the Beeb own all the rights and Julian sees nothing from video sales. In the unlikely case that someone did raise an eyebrow, I dare say it would be the BBC's lawyers you'd have to watch out for. But then again, I don't know for sure - this is all speculation - I'm just pointing out that it is not necessarily the case that Julian has any rights or say in what is done with his film.

It's clearly copyrighted to the BBC - it's got their moniker on. I looked at the rules on Dime-A-Dozen but they wouldn't host it as the background music has been commercially released. Archive might take it ...
